A total of 3 test mules of the new generation 2020 Hyundai Creta have been spied on test together. Along with these three test mules, there was a Kia Seltos SUV as well. These 4 cars were being driven in a fleet, when they were spotted by automotive enthusiast Kamaldeep.
New gen 2020 Hyundai Creta has already been launched in China. Now it is getting ready for India launch. Ahead of that, the test mules are performing road tests, so that the SUV can be tuned for Indian road conditions.
The India spec Hyundai Creta will be identical in design to the Creta from China. When compared to the current generation Creta, the new model will get several updates in terms of design. It will sport a cascading front grille, split headlamps with LED DRLs and vertically stacked split tail lamps.
Where dimensions are concerned, the new Hyundai ix25 measures 4300 mm, 1790 mm and 1635 mm in length, width and height, respectively with its wheelbase measuring 2,610 mm. These dimensions, when compared to the outgoing model, see its length and width increased by 10 mm while height has increased by 8 mm and wheelbase by 20 mm. The boot space stands at 444 liters, which is the highest in its class.
The interiors of Hyundai ix25 or Creta, as it is called in India, will also see a complete revamp with a bolder theme. It will receive a large vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system with central AC vents, fully digital MID, new steering wheel design and a 360 degree camera system.
Just like Kia Seltos, the new Creta will also get driving modes. These are Smart, Sport, Eco and Comfort. In addition to this, the new Hyundai Creta will also get three terrain modes Snow, Mud and Sand.
Safety would include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, 4 disc brakes (as seen in spy shots), etc. It could also get Driver Fatigue Reminder, Lane Keeping Assist, Front Collision Warning Braking System and Lane Departure Warning.
The India spec Hyundai Creta will be powered by same petrol and diesel BS6 engines which are on offer with the Kia Seltos. These are a 1.5 liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine offering 115 PS power and 144 Nm torque; a 1.4 liter turbo petrol offering 140 PS and 242 Nm. Its diesel engine will be a 1.5 liter mill, generating 115 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission options on offer will be 6 MT, 6 AT, CVT and 7 DCT auto. Expect prices to be in the Rs 10-16 lakh range.
