2020 Hyundai Verna is India’s First Fully Connected Mid-Sized Sedan

Ahead of launch of 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift this month, the company has detailed its fully connected features list

All set to be launched in India in the coming weeks, Hyundai India today revealed interesting new details about their new car. 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift, or as Hyundai India calls it – The Spirited New Verna, it will be India’s first fully connected mid-sized sedan. It will be powered by the same internet technology, which powers the Venue, and soon to be launched Creta. It is called Hyundai BlueLink. This connected technology will allow you to access about 50 features, which have been detailed below.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna sees several updates both in terms of its exterior and interior design while dimensions increase marginally. The engine lineup for India spec model also gets updated to conform to new BS VI emission standards. Where its dimensions are concerned, the new Verna stands 25mm longer as compared to its current counterpart to measure 4,450mm. There is no change in width and height which stand 1,720mm in width and 1,455mm in height with a 2,600mm long wheelbase.

2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift

The exteriors sport a new front bumper, a large trapezoidal grille, triple pod headlamps and a new set of tail lamps with an LED strip running across its width. It gets a wider central airdam and a sun roof as well as a shark fin antenna as a part of its exterior updates. While lower trims get alloy wheels in a monotone colour scheme, the top spec variants get dual tone machine cut alloy wheels.

Hyundai Verna will share its engine lineup with the Kia Seltos. The 1.5 liter petrol engine will offer 115 bhp power and 144 Nm torque while the 1.5 liter diesel engine will be capable of 115 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. It will also get the 1.0 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine, from the Venue. Transmission options on the petrol 1.5 L engine will include a 6 speed manual or CVT while the diesel engine will get mated to a 6 speed manual or 6 speed AT. Turbo petrol engine will get DCT. All engines will comply with BS VI emission standards which are being made mandatory from 1st April 2020.

2020 Hyundai Verna will compete against Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, soon to be launched 2020 Honda City, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Vento. The sedan is slated to be priced between Rs.8.5-14 lakhs and will enter showrooms across India in the coming weeks.
