All new generation of Isuzu D-Max has made its global debut in Thailand. This third gen model follows the second gen Isuzu D-Max which has been on sale around the globe for 8 years. Soon it will be replaced by the new gen D-Max you see in this post.
The new D-Max is based on an ‘Infinite Potential’ theme. It will retain its body-on-frame construction, solid-beam rear axle and on demand AWD along with a rear differential lock.
In terms of dimensions, the D-Max measures 5265mm long, 1870mm wide, 1790mm tall. This means it is 30mm shorter in length, 10mm less wider, and 5mm shorter in height. Wheelbase is 3125mm, which is longer by 30mm as compared to older D-Max. Though the overall length has reduced, cabin space has increased. Thanks to longer wheelbase, driving performance is also better.
It can be seen with a new front end design, new bi-LED headlamps and U shaped LED DRLs along with a larger hexagonal grille and two round projectors positioned on top of each other on either sides of the bumper. Changes to the rear will include LED tail lamps in a darker colour scheme with dual square lighting motifs.
2020 Isuzu D Max interiors feature a more sophisticated cabin. It has extensive use of aluminum and leather to make it more comfortable and better equipped as against its predecessor. The dashboard gets a piano black finish while the central console and climate controls get aluminum accents.
The automatic transmission lever also gets a mix of aluminum and leather. New Isuzu D-Max offers a range of driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, a digital speedometer and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine specifications remain unchanged with the 1.9 liter diesel series for Europe and the 3.0 liter V4 for all other markets. In India, the Isuzu D-Max will come with a 1.9 liter diesel engine offering 150 PS power and 350 Nm torque and mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The engine will be in a BS VI format.
The new generation Isuzu D-Max is not only more feature rich and tech loaded, it also gets better driving dynamics, better off-road capabilities, attractive design, larger disc brakes for better braking and much more.
