2020 Range Rover Sentinel armour debuts with bullet and bomb proof protection

Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations has revealed the Sentinel, an armoured Range Rover that sports the very latest in occupant protection. Set to be showcased at the Home Office Security and Policing show from 5-7 March 2019, at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, the Sentinel will be seen in a design that complies with full ballistic and blast certification.

It is resistant to improvised explosive devices and gets a blast proof glass and roof along with an emergency escape system. Such is its safety concerns that the front passenger window can be lowered 150mm for document delivery while it is also fitted with sirens and emergency lighting along with a PA system for occupants to address people outside.

2020 Range Rover Sentinel is built at the SV Technical Center in Warwickshire. It boasts of world class safety and comfort and its cell is built to stringent whole vehicle standards. The body provides protection from all forms of modern and unconventional forms of attack. It also commands outstanding comfort features and highest level of performance.

The exteriors are seen with LED lighting while interiors are offered with an optional Black Pack. The chassis, suspension and braking system have been upgraded while wheels are fitted with run flat tyres that can keep the car speeding upto 50 mph (80 kms) for over a distance of 30 miles (48 kms) even when tyres are completely deflated. Other features include an anti tamper exhaust, self sealing fuel tank and auxiliary back up battery.

The door thickness, is equipped to save passengers from bomb blasts as well.

Its interiors are seen with the latest Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with twin 25.3cm high resolution touch screens. Cabin space is at a premium with ample head room, luxurious seating and state of the art cabin comforts.

New Range Rover Sentinel is powered by a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 petrol engine allowing for the best in performance over all sorts of terrains. Despite being fitted with a 1 tonne armour plate and glass, acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 10.4 seconds while top speed is at 193 kmph. Other details have been kept a secret, to protect the owners. Price is available on request. We expect the prices to be above Rs 10 crore.
