In India, Toyota Fortuner competes against the likes of Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Volkswagen Tiguan All-space
Toyota is offering a new styling accessory package exclusively for its Thai customers. Named as ‘Pride Package II’, this limited edition package is only available for sale till 31st of March, 2021 and is available only for the standard variant of the recently updated premium SUV.

Contents of this styling package, spruce up the exterior looks of the new 2021 Fortuner. For starters, the Pride Package II gives a dual-tone theme to the exterior of the SUV. This includes a completely blacked-out roof and pillars. Other elements of the SUV which are given a black treatment include the front grille, ORVMs caps and side steps.
The SUV also gets blacked-out bash plates at both its front and rear bumpers in addition to ‘FORTUNER’ written in bold letterings on its hood. All contents of this package will be available at a price of 46,500 Thai baht (equivalent to INR 1.1 lakh).
In Thailand, the new Fortuner is offered with two diesel engine options including a 2.4-litre unit and a 2.8-litre unit. There is no petrol engine on offer.
Powertrain, Transmission Options
In India, Fortuner is also available with a 2.7-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit which produces 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of peak torque. It is also offered with a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine which now kicks out 204 PS of power and up to 500 Nm of torque (420 in MT variants).
A 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case is exclusively available in the diesel powertrain. Both motors could be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Design & Features on offer
2021 Fortuner comes in two trims- standard and Legender. Both receive an updated front end which comprises new LED headlamps and bumper design. The rear end also gets an updated layout with new LED taillights. Both models flaunt distinct features such as different headlights, grille designs and alloy wheel designs.
The standard variant gets 18-inch alloys whereas the Legender trim rolls on larger 20-inchers. Also, Legender is only available with a diesel automatic powertrain that too in a 2WD configuration only.
The updated Fortuner comes with a host of new features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota’s TConnect for connected tech, ventilated front seats and more. Legender goes a few steps ahead in offering creature comforts such as a wireless charging pad, 360-degree parking camera, ambient lighting, a kick-to-open powered tailgate and a mildly updated instrument cluster. It also gets a larger 9-inch infotainment unit.
