2023 Honda Brio facelift gets the same 1.2 liter petrol 4 cylinder engine, which was also on offer with the India-spec Brio
PT Honda Prospect Motor has facelifted its Brio Satya and Brio RS for MY2023 in Indonesia. There are two trim levels spawning three variants of Brio Satya and one trim level spawning two variants of Brio RS. Honda equipped all five variants with a sole 1.2L NA 4-cylinder petrol motor with a choice between a manual transmission and a CVT.
Honda priced 2023 Brio facelift between IDR 191,900,000 (approx Rs. 9.24 lakh) for base E trim and IDR 191,900,000 (approx Rs. 10.69 lakh) for S CVT variant. Whereas Brio RS starts from IDR 233,900,000 (approx Rs. 13.03 lakh) and MT and IDR 243,900,000 (approx Rs. 13.59 lakh) for CVT.
2023 Honda Brio Brio RS Facelifts
Electric Lime Metallic, Crystal Black, Meteoride Gray Metallic shades are common between Brio and Brio RS. Exclusive to Brio are Taffeta White and Rallye Red whereas Phoenix Orange Pearl Two Tone and Stellar Diamond Pearl are limited to Brio RS. Honda is known to establish significant iterative differences with minimal changes.
2023 Honda Brio and Brio RS facelifts are no different. Honda has enlarged the front grille, narrowed its thick horizontal bar, and reshaped its headlights with new LED signature lighting and a new bumper. A combination of all these completely transforms the look of Brio Satya and Brio RS radically as opposed to their predecessors.
Most of the new additions and features in general, are exclusive to RS trim only. New feature additions with top-spec RS trim are LED headlights, LED fog lights, passive entry with request sensors, ORVMs with LED indicators, an MID in instrument console similar to Jazz and City (4th gen), push-button start, a 7” infotainment screen with smartphone integration, tweeters, 15” alloy wheels and more.
Brio 2023 facelift misses out on almost all of these. It lacks fog lamps too. RS gets different front and rear bumpers hence there are differences in dimensions as well. Brio RS measures 3,810 x 1,680 x 1,485 while Brio Satya measures 3,795 x 1,680 x 1,485 (Length x Width x Height in mm). 2,405 mm wheelbase is identical.
Interiors carried over
With the 2023 Brio, Honda didn’t update its interiors. We’re talking about the exact same interiors we got with the 2016 update, sans the MY2023 7” infotainment and MID display. The seats are similar too, but Indonesia-spec Brio and Brio RS get rear adjustable headrests, a welcome addition.
Speaking of similar stuff, the 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine is identical as well. It makes around 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque, a similar state of tune and emission standard (EURO4) to what we got in India. In Indonesia, Honda offers a CVT for AT variants as opposed to a 5-speed TC in India.
In Indonesia, 2023 Honda Brio lineup rivals Suzuki Celerio, Toyota Wigo and Mitsubishi Mirage. Honda has no plans to launch the facelifted Brio in India. Here, they are getting ready to launch a new compact SUV called Elevate.
