2024 Jeep Wrangler has made its global debut at the New York Auto Show – Gets a host of exterior and interior feature updates
For the 2024 model year, Jeep has brought in a host of feature updates to the Wrangler SUV which is being offered in Sport, Willys, Sahara, High Altitude, Rubicon and Rubicon 392 variants. The company has expanded its lineup to include the base 4xe Sport electrified offroader and Rubicon X which is positioned above the standard Rubicon.
2024 Jeep Wrangler – Exteriors get new
Jeep Wrangler now boasts of added features both in terms of exterior and interior makeup, improved technology and better capabilities. Taking its exterior updates into account, the company has added a new front grille. This is in a 7 slot design with the slats being slimmer and more upright while colour schemes include black textured slots, grey metallic bezels and body coloured surrounds.
Revised headlamps and as many as 10 new wheel designs are also offered on the 2024 Wrangler. Wheel sizes range from 17-20 inches while the Xtreme 35 pack can be had with 32-35 inch tyre sizes.
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes in with factory fitted 8000 pound Warn winch, 100:1 crawl ratio and Dana 44 heavy duty full float rear axle thus allowing buyers to fit these larger tyres. There is also the option of hard and soft tops with Sky One Touch powertop.
Added driver and passenger comforts include a 12.5 inch centrally positioned touchscreen which is offered as standard across all trims. The new Wrangler Rubicon X also boasts of new climate control vents in a rectangular shape, 12 way powered front seats, Nappa leather seats, 9 speaker Alpine stereo system, integrated off road cameras and windshield integrated stealth antenna.
The Wrangler updated for the 2024 model year also gets upgraded with a Stellantis’ Uconnect 5 Android-based system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Charging facilities are via USB Type C ports offered as standard in the front and USB Type A and C for passengers in the 2nd row.
High Altitude models sport Mantis Green in its cabin. High Altitude Rubicon X and Rubicon 392 receive acoustic front glass, thick carpeting and additional sound-deadening foam.
Safety has also been enhanced with outboard seat belts with pre-tensioners and load-limiters on 2nd row seats, front and rear passenger side airbags, traction control, ESC with electronic roll over mitigation, reverse camera and forward collision alerts along with advanced cruise control.
Powertrains Options Of 2024 Jeep Wrangler
There is no change seen in the engine line-up of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler that includes 3 ICE engine options and the PHEV 4xe. It continues to draw power via a turbo-charged 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder engine making 270 hp power and 400 Nm torque. There is also a 3.6 liter V6 engine offering 285 hp power and 352 Nm torque, while the 4xe gets a 2.0 liter turbo plug in hybrid.
Transmission options include an 8 speed automatic as standard while the 4 cylinder and V6 models get a 6 speed manual. Rubicon 392 is powered by a 6.4 liter V8 engine making 470 hp power and 638 Nm torque. Wrangler 4xe that draws power via a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, is slated to offer a range of 21 miles all-electric and 49 miles per gallon equivalent.
2024 Jeep Wrangler prices have not been revealed yet. Order books have been opened and deliveries to dealerships across the US will commence from later this year. It will also be making its way to other global markets, including India.
