Nexon facelift will utilize an evolved design philosophy, something that will be relevant for both ICE and EV versions
One of the popular sub-4-meter compact SUVs, Tata Nexon is expected to get its facelift version in the coming months. It will continue to rival the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. Launch price is expected in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, ex-sh.
Test mules of Nexon facelift have been spotted frequently in recent times, revealing finer details about the SUV. Based on spy shots, automotive rendering artist Pratyush Rout has come up with a digital render of Nexon facelift.
2024 Tata Nexon Facelift Render – New age styling
Existing Nexon model has a brawny profile, which ensures a dominating street presence. However, there’s quite a bit of clutter, especially in the front section. Design elements are of varying shapes and sizes, and in different shades, which kind of seems jarring to the eyes.
Recently launched Nexon Red Dark edition seems much better, as it has a uniform black shade all across. But the cohesiveness of design elements is still missing, something that could be fixed in the facelift version.
In the digital render, Tata Nexon facelift can be seen with sleek LED DRLs at top, an interconnecting LED light bar, low-mounted LED headlamps, prominent air dam and skid plate in metallic finish. Nexon facelift has muscular wheel arches, thick body cladding, sharp character lines on the door panels, blacked-out pillars, roof rails and blacked-out rear-view mirrors with integrated turn indicators. Recent sightings of test mules reveal that Nexon 2024 will get updated LED tail lamps, with design similar to that of Harrier and Safari.
Overall, 2024 Nexon has refined, mature design aesthetics, in line with contemporary tastes and preferences. Moreover, it seems appropriate for both the ICE and EV versions. Some new colour options could be expected to be introduced with Nexon facelift. And the EV version will have its own set of unique design features.
2024 Nexon facelift performance
Nexon facelift will retain the existing engine options. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor generates 120 PS of max power and 170 Nm of peak torque. It is possible that a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor could be introduced, which makes 125 PS and 225 Nm. Nexon’s 1.5-litre diesel unit makes 115 PS and 260 Nm. This will be carried forward in the same format. Transmission choices will be updated, apart from the AMT option, there will also be a DCT Nexon. The 6-speed manual transmission will be retained for both engines.
Equipment list will see some new additions with Nexon facelift. It includes features such as a new 7-inch digital instrument TFT cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6 airbags and refreshed upholstery. ADAS is also a possibility with top-spec variants of Nexon facelift. There are speculations that Nexon facelift could also get a new name or at least a prefix or suffix that justifies its evolved form and function.
