With the new Kia Seltos rendered, we can see design inspirations from Telluride and speculations suggest Interior elements from Syros
The compact SUV segment today has gotten overcrowded with up to 11 contenders. We have Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Citroen Aircross and Basalt. The segment is currently led by Hyundai Creta with 15,452 units sold in November 2024.
New Kia Seltos Rendered
Competing at the highest level seems to be the only mantra to excel in this segment. Kia is active in this segment with Seltos which was facelifted with new interiors in July 2023. In just 1.5 years since launch, Kia is already testing Next-Gen Seltos with a design which seems to be inspired by Telluride flagship SUV. Here’s a digital render of this SUV based on recent spy shots.
With the launch of Seltos, Kia entered the Indian market and has thrived in premium segments. New Seltos will be the most premium iteration of this vehicle as it now dons a similar design language as Kia’s flagship ICE SUV, Telluride. Rendering artist Pratyush Rout has penned down Rushlane’s render of new Kia Seltos based on spy shots.
Kia is going for a macho design this time around, even thorough rivals are going towards swoopy designs with sloping rooflines and coupe profiles. Sticking with a boxy silhouette also reflects Telluride’s design. The main inspiration is with front fascia where we can see squarish LED headlights.
Bonnet is now much flatter and so is the fascia. This render encapsulates these design elements perfectly, as seen on test mules in spy shots. LED DRLs on this render are a two-part design with one tri-folded part on either end of this vehicle and the second part inside headlight unit. Kia’s Tiger Nose grill is more pronounced this time around.
Lower grill gets a radar module for ADAS along with a fake skid plate finished in Silver shade. Side profile is vastly similar to current model and side body claddings get more muscular. Wheels get an interesting geometric pattern similar to what we can with US-spec Kia Seltos facelift, also launched in 2023.
All-New Interiors
Interior spy shots reveal an all new colour theme as well as seats, which now look more modern. Dashboard was covered, but speculations suggest a similar 30-inch Trinity Display as the recently debuted Kia Syros that comprises two 12.3-inch displays flanking a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control functions.
Rear ventilated seats and a sliding rear bench for flexible boot space are also expected to feature in the New Seltos. The same 2-spoke steering wheel as Syros with an off-centre Kia logo and improvement in materials are also expected. The same 1.5L NA Petrol, 1.5L Turbo Petrol, and 1.5L Turbo Diesel engines seen in the current model will continue to power the New Kia Seltos. Launch is likely to happen sometime in late 2025, while pricing will be more or less in a similar range as that of existing Seltos.
