With SUV sales soaring, Indian car manufacturers are shying away from Sedans or Saloon cars. Only a few car makers are venturing into this body style and Hyundai is one among them. The company has two sedans in India, Aura and Verna, operating in B Segment and C+ Segment respectively.
Currently, Verna is in its 4th Gen avatar and was launched in March 2023. It is almost nearing three years in age and Hyundai seems to be working on a facelift of Verna. Test mule sightings are getting frequent, suggesting a nearing launch timeline. Let’s take a closer look at the recent spy shots credited to automotive enthusiast Sudarshan.

2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift Spied
Verna has been one of the most definitive sedans on sale in India. Now that Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is at the fag end of its life cycle, Hyundai Verna takes on Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus. These C+ Segment sedans play a crucial role in India as lower-tier D Segment sedans have vanished entirely.
The new 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift spied, features a new fascia as seen in these spy shots. It seems to offer a vertically-oriented LED headlight setup, as opposed to the horizontal setup seen in current model. Other changes in the fascia may include repositioned LED DRLs with a new design, redesigned bumpers and others.

At the sides, we can see a new alloy wheel design which could be in the same 16-inch size, wrapped with 205-section tyres. Door handles are still conventional and most of the sheet metal seems to have been retained. At the rear, one can expect slightly revised LED tail light signature and new rear bumpers.
What else is new?
These latest spy shots show the new 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift with full camouflage at the front and rear, concealing most of the changes and updates. Even the interiors are camouflaged, but previous spy shots have revealed some interesting updates to make 2026 Verna Facelift better equipped than the current model.

For starters, we now get a new steering wheel and a dual-curved screen setup on the dashboard, which could be shared with new Venue. These are 12.3-inch screens and support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There could be more updates to the interiors and features list including dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, upgraded Hyundai Connect telematics, OTA updates and others.
The same 1.5L 4-cyl NA Petrol engine and 1.5L 4-cyl Turbo Petrol engine from the current model might be carried over. The former has 112 bhp and 143.8 Nm, mated to either a Manual or iVT gearbox and the latter packs 158 bhp and 253 Nm, mated to either a Manual or a quick-shifting DCT.
