Tata Motors has had a few rockstars in their lineup, where sales are concerned. High up that list is Punch SUV, which has been a blockbuster for the brand ever since it launched. While there have been a few features updates here and there, Punch design has stayed the same since it first debuted.

To make Punch fresh and align it with the company’s modern design language, Tata Motors is giving Punch a facelift. Test mules of the same have been spotted multiple times. Recent spy shots show two Punch Facelift (ICE models) up close in their close-to-production guise with dual-tone roof effect. Let’s take a closer look.

Punch facelift test mules have made multiple appearances, but the recent spy shots look like they are close to production, when compared to the previous ones. Two 2026 Tata Punch Facelift test mules were spied testing together, showing a few design changes intended with this vehicle and design inspiration seems to be from Punch EV.

For starters, we can see that camouflage still exists on these test mules. At the front, we can see that 2026 Tata Punch Facelift gets a new bumper and there seems to be an ADAS module in the lower bumper, as seen in the way camouflaging has been done. Main grille at the top gets two pronounced horizontal slits for air intake.

LED DRLs have gotten sleeker now and the clamshell bonnet can be seen too. Headlights seem to be vertically-oriented now, like in current Punch EV. Depending on the trim level (or Persona), headlight assembly will get fog lights with cornering function. Alloy wheel design seems to be new and is fully camouflaged in these spy shots.

Body cladding looks like it is similar to current model with thick door cladding. These claddings seems to be unpainted, unlike what we saw with Curvv and Sierra. One can also see 360-degree cameras with Punch which might be utilised for blindspot monitoring feature too, further strengthening safety angle of Punch.

New Interiors, Same Engines

On the inside, previous Punch Facelift spy shots have shown a new steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, wide 10.2-inch touchscreen, redesigned dashboard and centre console and more features. Expected features with 2026 Tata Punch Facelift include ventilated seats, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, Level-2 ADAS and others.

Where powertrains are concerned, 2026 Punch Facelift is likely to retain the same options as current model. These include a 1.2L NA Petrol and a CNG derivative based on the same engine. Dual CNG tanks will be carried over, which is a more elegant and practical way. Same 5-speed Manual and 5-speed AMT will be carried over as they are. Launch is likely in H1 2026.
