Improved performance
Both the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 are now equipped with an updated version of the 660cc triple engine. Power output is now 95 PS, which is an increase of 14 PS. Peak power now arrives at a higher rev range of 11,250 rpm, as compared to 10,250 rpm earlier. Torque output has increased from 64 Nm earlier to 68 Nm with the 2026 models. Peak torque also arrives at a higher rev range of 8,250 rpm, as compared to 6,250 rpm earlier.

While max torque is now available at a higher rev range, around 80% will still be accessible from 3,000 rpm. Triumph has also increased the redline (max rev) by 20% to 12,650 rpm, as compared to around 10,500 rpm earlier. These updates will ensure powerful and versatile performance across the rev range. With the 2026 Trident 660, users can expect more engaging rides. In comparison, 2026 Tiger Sport 660 users will be able to access enhanced touring capabilities.
Powertrain updates
Improved performance for 2026 Triumph Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 comes from some major tweaks to the engine hardware. For example, the single throttle setup has been replaced with three individual 44 mm throttle bodies, one for each cylinder. This change unlocks strong low-down torque and more power across the mid-range and top-end.

Other changes include a larger, front-mounted airbox, which improves airflow. A re-engineered cylinder head now comes with larger exhaust valves and higher-lift cam profiles. These work to improve combustion and power delivery. To handle the increased performance, the 2026 Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 use more robust cooling systems. The engine is now more optimally calibrated, ensuring improved overall throttle response and smoother performance at low rpm.
Exhaust setup has been updated with a new 3-into-1 header design. The bike has an updated catalytic converter and an underbelly exhaust. Changes have also been introduced to the 6-speed gearbox, including revised gear ratios and final drive. There’s a recalibrated Triumph Shift Assist and a new slip and assist clutch.
