It is celebration time at Kia India as the company just launched its most ambitious launch in the form of 2nd Gen Seltos. Now, there is another reason for the company to celebrate as it just hit a major milestone in its tech-first connected car journey in the Asian subcontinent.

The company just announced that they have achieved a major milestone of selling 5 lakh Kia connected cars in India since they began sales operations in 2019. This positions Kia India as a Technology leader in the ever-evolving automotive landscape. Let’s take a closer look at some interesting stats regarding the same.

Reinforcing its tech-driven journey in the country, Kia India just achieved a major sales milestone in its domestic operations. The company has sold over 5 lakh SUVs and MPVs in India to date, that came equipped with Kia’s Connected Tech suite. This milestone reflects Kia’s tech-first approach to differentiate itself from rival brands.

Kia’s intelligent mobility ecosystem with connected car tech now accounts for around 40% of the company’s wholesale domestic sales. The primary contributor to this milestone is their Seltos 4.2m to 4.4m SUV, which contributed nearly 70% of this 5 lakh total connected cars sold in India, followed by Sonet and Carens family.

These connected car tech were offered as complementary subscription services by the company during purchase. Many customers are renewing this service on a subscription model and this retention trend indicates that these buyers were satisfied with Kia Connect connected features and adopted them in their daily life.

Most notable of these connected features include Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), Plant OTA Updates (Over The Air), OTA Software Updates with Kia Remote Diagnostics, Digital Key 2.0, Multilingual Voice Recognition Support, Surround View Monitor along with a few EV-specific connected car features like Drive Green and Kia Smart Connected Home Chargers.
