Mercedes AMG GTR Roadster is a drop top variant of the Coupe. It gets a light weight structure which is largely made of aluminum, magnesium and steel. It sits on 20 inch forged alloys fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres of sizes 275/35ZR in front and 325/30ZR at the rear.

Its expansive rear wing can be adjusted manually to suit different driving conditions. The three layer fabric roof receives roll over protection with integrated aluminum cross member along with an acoustic mat that significantly reduces outside noise. The roof folds away into the truck when not needed.

Cabin treatments are seen in Saddle Brown/Black, Macchiato Beige/Black and Silver Pearl/Black. The cockpit gets a 12.3” all digital instrument cluster and a 10.25” infotainment system. It is fitted with black Nappa leather AMG Performance seats with heating and cooling feature along with an AirScarf neck-level heating system.

There is also an AMG Interior Night Package for steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and seat inserts in high gloss black and four instrument panel vents along with arm rest trim strops in high gloss or matte carbon fiber. To show off these special 750 examples, distinctive numbering of “1 to 750” will be emblazoned on the central console.

As is seen powering the standard GT-R, the Roadster is also powered by a twin turbo 4.0 liter V8 engine offering 577 hp power and 516 lb/ft (700 Nm) torque mated to a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. The engine allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and hits a top speed of 317 kmph. Potential rivals for the new Mercedes AMG GTR Roadster will include the Audi R8 Spyder Performance, Ferrari Portofino, and Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible.
