Billy Standley loved his motorcycle, like any true biker. Everyone who knew him, knew that how crazy Billy was for his passion of motorcycling. He would keep telling his friends and family, that whenever he bids his final goodbye, he wants the world to see it. And the world did see his good-bye.
After he died of cancer at the age of 82 years last week, Billy’s family fulfilled his wish, and gave him his dream ride to heaven. Billy himself started preparations for his funeral. He bought three large burial plots, next to his wife’s burial plot, so that he could accommodate his motorcycle along with him. He was going to go in a casket made of glass, so that the world could see. The customized casket was made 5 years ago, and was lying in his garage.
In order to make sure Billy doesn’t unseat himself during his last journey, the makers of the casket had fitted the motorcycle with metal back brace and straps. The casket was designed by Billy’s son’s Roy and Pete. Billy’s last journey was honored not only by his family, but also escorted by a procession of bikers. (via)
