Acura, the luxury car division of Japanese automakers Honda Motor Company, are displaying their 2014 RLX Flagship Sedan at the LA Auto Show. This model, as a disguised concept was earlier showcased at the 2012 New York Auto Show while the production model has made its grand entry here in LA, where it is seen with a new set of bumpers and smaller wheels as compared to its concept.
Boasting of leather lined interiors and wood trimmed accents, the RLX possesses dual screens which include an 8” navigation screen and a 7” On Demand Multi Use Display touch screen, push button start and power tilt steering wheel. A power sunroof, trizone automatic climate control and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink are also part of its interior makeup.
2014 RLX is schedule for sale in the US by Spring of 2013 and will be seen with similar dimensions to the outgoing RLX though it sits on a 2” longer and wider wheelbase and leg room is more enhanced. Set to compete with BMW 535i, Lexus GS350 and Audi A6, Acura RLX will be the first model in the brand to have Precision All-Wheel Steer, Vehicle Stability Assist and Traction Control with Agile Handling Assist braking system. It will possess a 3.5 liter V6 engine offering 310 hp and 272 lb/ft torque while prices are yet unknown and will be revealed closer to launch dates.
