After Maruti, Suzuki Celerio (MT + CVT) production to begin in Thailand in May 2014


After taking Indian markets by storm, Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd has brought the new Celerio compact car to the 35th Bangkok International Motor Show where it is on display.

Based on the A Wind concept, the new Celerio was earlier seen at Thailand International Motor Expo in November 2013. Celerio was seen sporting a rugged exterior and well defined interior with passenger comforts and premium luggage compartment despite the fact that it is possesses a compact body. Celerio measures 3600 mm in length, 1600 mm in width and 1540 mm in height with a 254 litre boot space.

Maruti_CelerioThe new Suzuki Celerio is being offered in two transmissions in Thailand, five speed manual transmission and CVT offering improved manoeuvrability. It is powered by a 1.0 litre engine which is low of auto emissions thus allowing the Celerio to comply with strict standards set by the Thai government.

With all other specifications of the Suzuki Celerio remaining the same as that of its Indian version, production and sales will begin from the company’s Rayong facility from where exports to Europe will also be conducted. Production of Suzuki Celerio eco-car will commence from May 2014.
