New Mitsubishi Lancer, set for sales across South East Asia, gets detailed. It will be called the Mitsubishi Grand Lancer and will be seen with notable interior and exterior updates while safety features will be at a premium.
Exteriors of the 2018 Mitsubishi Lancer, as per images, reveals an X shaped family face offering a distinct difference to its earlier counterpart. Alloy wheels and redesigned tail lamps are also evident along with chrome trimmed ‘Dynamic Shield’ at its front end and automatic LED headlights.
The rear end sports new C shaped tail lamps and an aggressive bumper design while placement of the number plate has been moved to the boot lid. Top end variants also receive two tone 18” alloy wheels.
New Mitsubishi Lancer sports a new dashboard design, 10.2” digital instrument panel, 3 spoke multifunction steering wheel and an 8” touch screen infotainment system. Reverse camera, dual zone automatic climate controls and new door panels are also evident with some of these features offered on the top end variants. In terms of safety, the new Lancer gets a total of 6 air bags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill start assist and emergency brake warning system. It also receives accident warning system and ISOFIX rear child seat anchors.
Where engine specifications are concerned, the new Lancer will be powered by a 1.8 liter naturally aspirated, 4 cylinder petrol engine offering 140 PS peak power and 176 Nm peak torque mated to a CVT sending power to its front wheels. The 2018 Mitsubishi Lancer entry level Elegant variant will be priced at NT$679,000 (INR 14.7 lakhs) while its Flagship variant will go upto NT$819,000 (INR 17.74 lakhs).
