Maruti Suzuki India Limited, largest auto manufacturers in India are excited about their new Alto 800, which is set to be launched on October 16th 2012. After experiencing immense success with the Alto small car in India, which was first launched over 12 years ago, the company is hopeful of similar, if not enhanced success this time round as well.
Maruti Suzuki Alto has been a long standing favorite in the small car segment. Alto 800 will be rolled out from the company’s Gurgaon plant and will compete with both the Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano. A CNG option is also on the cars and the company is on the fast track to cash in on the festive demand.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 will be more spacious with enhanced sporty features than its old Alto counterpart. It will sport higher mounted headlights and a chrome strip running across its front grille while sculpted bumpers add to its sporty finish.
Interiors are designed to offer better comforts thanks to enhanced cabin space, while seating is seen in a dual toned finish, a new dashboard raised in the centre and a new steering wheel are among its interior highlights. Maruti Suzuki have also offered better safety features in their new Alto 800 which include diver’s airbags and ABS which is optional.
Alto 800 will sport 796 cc engine offering 48 PS and 69 Nm torque up 11% as compared to the Alto model. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Alto 800 will also offer 15% enhanced fuel efficiency as compared to the Alto standing this time round at 22.74 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki hopes to attract a number of first time buyers, student and the younger generation with their new Alto 800 which is priced below Rs 4 lakhs.
