Amer Beg from India will race Lamborghini Super Trofeo series Shanghai in June
18 teams from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan took part in the opening weekend of the series while jubilant crowds of racing enthusiasts and media thronged the venue to witness the events and get to see super cars race at the debut race of second ever Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series.
Super Trofeo teams followed the similar 50 minute practice session format getting to know the track prior to the 35 minute qualifying session and two official races each 50 minutes in length. This year, Asia Series follows the fourth year of European Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. The series will be held in Asia across some of the best international circuits in Sepang, Fuji, Ordos, Zhuhai, Penbay while it will conclude in November at Shanghai.
This year Gallardo LP 570-4 Trofeo 2013 is in attendance where it is seen with enhanced aerodynamic kit resulting in a better performance and enhanced balance. Super Trofeo now heads to Sepang, Malaysia for its next round to be held on June 28-30, 2013. The next race is scheduled for the end of this month, June 28 – 30 at Sepang, Malaysia.
The series sees Amer Beg, an Indian driver for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series make his national debut in the championship. His Facebook update post race reads, “Thank you everyone in India and around the world for your support, words of encouragement and wishes to me and Lamborghini India for our participation in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series! Its been an honor to be the first Indian to race a Lamborghini. We tried hard and missed the podium by 1 place but will continue our efforts till we get there!”
