2020 Datsun redi-GO BS6 arrives in showroom – Price exp Rs 2.95 lakh

Compared to the older BS4 redi-GO, the BS6 variant is about Rs 15k more expensive for the base variant

In the backdrop of inherent drawbacks in the backdrop of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, manufacturers are slowly starting to take baby steps in trying to run operations. As Datsun begins operations at dealerships in accordance with government and local authority directives, the auto manufacturer has also started dispatching the new BS6 Datsun Redi-Go to dealerships.

2020 Datsun redi-GO facelift runs on a BS6 compliant petrol engine. And its exterior brings forth a fairly new front. Most noticeable is the tall horizontal ‘L’ shaped LED DRLs. They are significant in the sense that the front DRL’s almost bracket the front fascia.

Other updates include a bigger front grille, and sleek headlamps with silver decoration. The front grille is encased in chrome side bits and complement the DRLs. Front bumper angling is sharper. On the outside OVRMs are manual folding. The Datsun Signature emblem sits on the front side panel just before the OVRMs. Tail lamp and fog lamps are in LED. 14 inch two tone cover wheels are also part of the line-up.

BS4 vs BS6 Datsun redi-GO

Features include internal adjustable OVRM, and interior premium treatment in Gun Metallic Grey, and AC vent in silver coating. The co-driver airbag is fitted at the side of the front left AC vent. Centre console is a play of piano black and silver bezel just below decorative dashboard. Instrument panel is in a two-tone finish.

The top trim features an 8-inch touchscreen display audio with mirroring that is Apple CarPlay and Android auto compatible, and features AM/FM/iPod/Radio/Bluetooth, and voice recognition, along with rear view camera display with guidelines. The front seat setup features dual airbags and front door trim fabric. Interior door trims are finished in chrome. Rear doors have a 1 litre bottle holder cubby, rear retractable seats, and the all important rear view camera.

BS6 Datsun redi-GO bookings open

The outgoing BS4 Datsun Redi-Go was available with a 0.8-litre engine that returned max power of 52PS, ans max torque of 72Nm. The 1.0-litre engine returns 68PS of max power, and 91Nm of max torque. In its new avatar, the vehicles carry over the MT and AMT options.

Variants include Redi-Go D, A, T, T(O) for the 800 cc variant, and T(O) MT / AMT for the 1.0 liter variant. T(O) variant has front power windows, body coloured OVRMs, and accessory socket with USB and AUX input. There’s a generous dash of chrome and silver bits on the ac dial know, air vents.

The BS4 redi-GO was priced from Rs 2.8 lakhs, ex-sh. The new BS6 redi-GO is expected to be priced from Rs 2.95 lakhs, ex-sh. Official price list will be revealed at launch in a few days. Below are further details from leaked brochure of BS6 redi-GO facelift.
