Jawa deliveries official announcement – To start from 4th week of Mar 2019

Mahindra owned Classic Legends launched Jawa and Jawa 42 back in November last year. The resurrection of the brand caused quite a stir in the two wheeler segment ,with the company claiming excellent response from customers. Jawa plans sale of around 7,500 units per month in the first year.

Bookings of the Jawa and Jawa 42, which were initially accepted via online, has now been closed. In fact, bookings till Sep 2019 are closed. If you want a delivery post that, you can head to a nearby dealership and book one. Jawa has not revealed total booking numbers received, but claimed that the number is huge.

With bookings now collected, when will delivery start? That is the question thousands of Jawa fans are asking. Well, there is now an official answer. Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends, has taken to twitter to make this announcement.

“The moment of truth is here for #JawaMotorcycles. We were audacious and planned a 100 showrooms nationwide before starting delivery – that’s being done in record time by March 3rd week. Fourth week onwards, we will start delivery across the country as per the booking queue!”

Speaking about delivery, there is no clear way to find out who is in queue, and when is one expected to get the delivery. A dealer confirmed that as and when a particular motorcycle is up for delivery, the respective buyer will get a call about a week in advance, when he or she will be asked to deposit the full amount of the bike.

The classic styled Jawa and retro styled Jawa 42 are both powered by a 293cc engine. This single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offers 27 bhp power and 28 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The initial units will be sold with single disc in the front with single channel ABS, with drum brake at the rear. There is also a dual disc with dual ABS on offer, but delivery of that will start post June 2019.

Jawa and Jawa 42 are priced competitively to rival Royal Enfield. The standard Jawa with rear drum brake is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakhs while the rear disc brake variant with dual channel ABS is priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs. Jawa 42 with drum brake is priced at Rs.1.64 lakhs while with dual channel ABS price goes up to Rs.1.73 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom.
