Tata Tiago BS6 Facelift modified with Sporty Styling Kit – Render

Instagram page hdcustomiz has shared a ‘mod idea’ for the 2020MY Tata Tiago BS6 facelift

One cannot deny that Tata Motors presently makes some of the best-looking cars ‘in the affordable segment’. Hardcore automotive design and styling enthusiasts could point out that Indian cars, in general, carry some extra aesthetic bits that would otherwise give way for cleaner looks. However, rising demand for flashy and gimmicky aftermarket accessories (such as chrome overload) has proved that the wider segment of buyers would not appreciate a clean or minimal design language.

With the brand’s latest Impact Design 2.0 philosophy, Tata Motors showcases its commitment to making good-looking products that also offer class-leading value for money. Perhaps the Tata Tiago hatchback can be considered as the turning point for the Indian automaker. Looking back to its debut in 2016, the city car was a runaway success and had an instant edge over its competitors in terms of interior equipment.

For the 2020 model year, Tata Motors has updated its entry-level product to BS6 specifications. The facelifted Tiago (second refresh) gets new features and colour schemes. Styling has come in line with the bigger Tata Altroz hatchback. Many would find the pre-facelift version, which had blacked-out projector headlamps, more attractive. Prices of the 2020MY Tata Tiago start at Rs 4.69 lakh ex-showroom.

Tata Tiago BS6 facelift gets a sporty makeover

The Tata Tiago has never been a modder’s delight but the car has definitely got potential. For instance, the phased-out Tiago JTP was quite a looker among products coming under Rs 10 lakh.

Instagram page @hdcustomiz has shared a ‘mod idea’ for a Victory Yellow Tiago BS6 facelift. The render clearly follows a ‘form over function’ approach with the large wing and dual-exhaust setup. The custom rear bumper sports faux vents and a diffuser-like panel in gloss black. Like on the Tiago JTP, there is a fender streak on each side. Grey stripes create a strong contrast with the base yellow shade.

The car rides on black 17-inch 5-spoke wheels with red accents. Other highlights include blacked-out badges, side skirts, extended black details (rear windshield), etc. The render quality certainly deserves praise.

Tata Tiago BS6 – Engine & specs

Powering the 2020MY Tata Tiago is a 1.2-litre Revotron NA petrol three-cylinder engine good for 118bhp @ 5,500rpm and 170Nm @ 1,750-4,000rpm. This is mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT. Latest spy shots reveal that Tata Motors is working on a turbocharged version of the same which might be offered with a DCT.
