Eicher has posted 38% increase in sales, whereas Ashok Leyland has posted 21% increase in sales.

Ashok Leyland sales growth for April 2016 stands at 21 percent with 10,180 units sold over 8,435 units sold in April 2015. M&HCV sales grew by 20 percent at 7871 units sold over 6,549 units sold in April 2015. LCV sales grew by 22 percent to 2,309 units over 1,886 previous year.

VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd reports sales of 5365 units in April 2016 over 3930 units sold in April 2015 at 36.5 percent. This includes 5326 units from Eicher trucks and buses compared to 3838 units sold in April 2015, and marks 38.8 percent sales growth.

In the domestic CV market, Eicher branded trucks and buses report sales of 4641 units in April 2016 over 3503 units in April 2015 equating to 32.5 percent sales growth.

Eicher exports for April 2015 stand at 685 units over 335 units in April 2015 at 104.5 percent sales growth. Volvo trucks have recorded sales of 39 units in April 2016 down from 92 units sold in April 2015.

At the end of last month, Eicher Trucks and Buses, part of VE Commercial Vehicles launched the Eicher Pro 1049 in the sub 5-tonne category. The commercial vehicle offering has a 10 ft long cargo body with payload of 4.9T GVW. Eicher Pro 1049 is available for a price of Rs 7 lakhs for the Bharat Stage III model and Rs 8 lakhs for the Bharat Stage IV compliant vehicle.
