Aston Martin and James Bond. It is a long and strong relationship. Bond’s preferred sports car comes with an unmatched sense of exclusivity every few years.
Produced exclusively for Spectre, DB10 was an effort from Aston Martin’s Gaydon Headquarters at the UK, where the latest offering was designed, engineered and handcrafted. Built on the underpinnings of the Vantage, it is powered by the same 4.7-liter V8 engine.
Bond isn’t the only one moving on stealth mode, and disrupting the scene. Making Aston Martin DB10 is in itself a closely-guarded secret. The James Bond Aston martin relationship began with DB5. The iconic and limited DB10 offers a view of future design direction for next gen Aston Martin cars.
Ten. That’s the number of Aston martin DB10 cars that were manufactured. Eight played their part in Spectre filming. Two were used as show cars. One of the 10 was recently auctioned to an unknown buyer for £2,434,500 ($3,586,009 or INR 2.29 crore).
With the release of Spectre last year, Aston Martin has featured in 12 of 24 James Bond films. Aston Martin celebrated the 50th anniversary of its James Bond association on 17 September 2014, a long journey that began with Goldfinger starring Sean Connery as 007 and DB5.
