Ather electric scooter lease price Rs 4k a month – 1st customer takes delivery

Following launch of their two electric scooters in 2018, Ather has now introduced a lease plan for the duo. The lease option is for customers to help make the ownership process a value proposition. Keeping in mind that the move to electric, though slow and mired in policy, is something that keeps bobbing its head above the surface, it makes sense that manufacturers device schemes that help make electric vehicle sales easier.

Ather’s new lease plans outline a monthly rental starting at Rs 3,977 for Ather S340, and Rs 4,220 for Ather S450. For those leasing, lease term ranges from 13 months to 3 years. In order to get started, one would need to deposit a down payment of Rs 30,000 for Ather 340, and Rs 40,000 for the Ather 450.

Under the Ather Energy lease programme, the EV two wheeler company has already found a customer under their leasing programme last weekend. Upon completion of lease period, customers can opt to retain the electric scooter in question. While Ather is a Bangalore based company and operates for the most part in the city, the company did earlier talk about expanding operations to other cities across India.

In keeping the lease terms simple, Ather 340 is available on lease for a refundable amount of Rs 30,000 up to Rs 65,000. As rental duration ranges from 13 months to 36 months, monthly rentals start at Rs 3,977, and will vary basis lease duration and down payment paid. The payment is made towards Ather’s service subscription, and charging cable for the period decided upon. Once the rental period is over, customers can go ahead and purchase the vehicle for a payment in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 45,000, depending on down payment and lease duration.

Ather 450 lease programme involves a refundable amount in the range of Rs 40,000 – Rs 75,000. Monthly rental starts at Rs 4,220. With Ather 450, customers are also provided with a home charging point. For purchase conversions beyond the lease period, customers need to pay a sum of Rs 15,000 to Rs 55,000, which varies owing to down payment and lease period.

Ather 340 and 450 are identical electric scooters, priced at Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh, ex-sh, respectively. The difference between the two scooters is in battery size. This results in different performance and riding range. 340 is powered by a 4.4 kW motor while the 450 is powered by a 5.4 kW motor. 340 has a riding range of up to 60 kms while the 450 can go up to 75 kms on a full charge. Both scooters also get extensive service / maintenance plans, which are detailed below.
