This new 4 cylinder engine comes with cylinder on demand technology as well. Mated with a 7 speed S tronic automatic gearbox, it offers a claimed mileage of 21.27 kmpl and carbon emissions of 109 g/km (175.4 g/mi). The 150 hp unit will give the A3 Ultra petrol a top speed of 220 kmph and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 8.1 seconds.
Apart from the A3 Ultra petrol, Audi also revealed that the A3 Ultra with diesel is also being planned. The A3 Ultra diesel will be powered by a 1.6l unit that delivers 110 hp and a claimed mileage of 30.30 kmpl. CO2 emissions stand at 88 g/km (141.6 g/mi).
With the addition of Ultra model in the new A3, Audi has taken the count of their efficient Ultra editions to a total of 22 models. Audi offers Ultra range in their A4, A5, A6 and A7 variants along with some of their g-tron, and e-tron hybrid cars.
Audi A3 sedan is also going to be launched in India. But, the new Ultra option will not be on offer. For India, the A3 sedan will come with 1.8l petrol and 2.0 diesel engine units, seen on the A4 and Q3 S respectively.
