Retail sales for Audi India in 2024 reached 5,816 units. Down by a quarter year from the previous calendar year. In 2023, Audi India sold 7,931 units, averaging 661 units per month. In 2024 that average was down to 485 units. Q4 alone contributed 1,927 units, reflecting a 36 percent growth over Q3. Improved supply chain management in the H2 2024 over H1 2024 resulted in this upturn.

2014-2015 Peaks and a Pandemic Plunge: Audi India’s Sales Timeline

From 2009 to 2024, Audi’s yearly sales data illustrates evolving trends in Audi’s luxury car journey. Peaks in 2014 and 2015 highlighted the market’s potential, with 10,851 and 11,192 units sold, respectively. A gradual recovery from the pandemic-induced downturn in 2020 became evident in 2023.

Audi Approved: plus recorded 32 percent growth in 2024, demonstrating increased customer interest in certified pre-owned luxury cars. Audi’s network now includes 26 facilities across India. New centres were launched in Guwahati and Mangalore, strengthening the brand’s presence in more regions.

Luxury on Wheels: Audi’s SUVs Remain Market Staples

Luxury SUVs like the Q3, Q5, and Q8 remain key drivers of growth for Audi India. Expanding the portfolio and enhancing customer experiences are expected to strengthen Audi’s market position.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “The first half of 2024 brought supply-related challenges for Audi India, yet the continued demand for our products reflects the enduring trust our customers place in the brand. With improved supplies in the second half of 2024 our volumes improved by 36% in quarter four compared to quarter three of 2024. This year also marked a major milestone of 100,000 cars sold in India. With the introduction of the new Audi Q8 and new Audi Q7, along with a robust portfolio, we are finishing the year strongly in quarter four and anticipate sales to grow hereon. We remain optimistic about the long-term potential of the Indian luxury car market and are committed to delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.”
