In the words of Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, “We have made a strong statement of intent by achieving the No.2 position in the Indian luxury car market, in the first quarter itself.” “2012 is proving to be a great year for Audi in India. Not only are we achieving spectacular growth month on month, we also made a strong statement of intent by achieving the No.2 position in the Indian luxury car market, in the first quarter itself. This achievement before the entire planned network for this year in place and the Audi Q3 in our portfolio is indeed encouraging. Our impressive sales performance coupled with a fast expanding dealer network serves as a good springboard to a strong year ahead and continued growth over the next few years. We owe this success to our class defining products; Audi A8, Audi A7 Sportback and Audi A6, launched last year that helped us bag 27 auto awards in 2011 – 2012 – a testimony of our brand promise, “Vorsprung durch Technik”.
He added, “The Audi A4 outsold its core competition in the first quarter and emerged as the best seller in its segment. We expect to see further growth going into the next quarters, riding on the recently launched Audi TT and the new Audi A4. The launch of the Audi Q3 in June will provide additional momentum and strengthen Audi’s dominance in the luxury SUV segment.”
