Audi Q3 SUV price increased by upto 2% in Indian auto industry

Audi India announced an increase of 1 to 2 percent in the price of the Q3 SUV in India. The current price of the Audi Q3 starts at Rs. 26, 21,000 and goes upto Rs. 31, 49,000. The rises in costs of this vehicle are due to the economic upheavals and low rate of the rupee in international markets. The brand is optimistic of reaching its target of 8,000 cars by the end of the year even after the rise in prices.

The Audi Q3 is one of the most favored vehicles in the Indian luxury SUV market with over 500 bookings recorded in the initial stage of its launch. Currently there are about 1,000 Audi Q3’s on Indian roads with only a limited number going to be available for the year 2012. In the luxury SUV segment, the Audi Q5 and Q7 are doing brisk business while in the sport segment the R8, R8 Spyder, RS5 and TT Coupe are performing well.

With sales of about 5,406 vehicles, the Audi brand is close to going beyond its annual sales figure of 2011 (5511). All this has been achieved within the first eight months of the year 2012. In order to cater to the growing demand, Audi is looking to expand its reach by opening about 4 new dealerships in addition to the 21 it has spread out all over the nation.
