As Audi India commences local production of Audi Q7, it will mean reduced waiting periods for customers while at the same time extending their range of vehicles assembled in India. Audi India has announced that they have commenced production of Q7 luxury class SUV at company plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Initial plans are set to produce up to 1000 units per annum of Audi Q7 which is the fourth model being built in India following production of Audi A4, A6 and Q5.
Excellent infrastructure available at Audi India, Aurangabad plant along with qualified workforce, state of the art working processes along with well developed logistics is what has enabled the company to go full steam ahead with this production.
Increased demand in the country for Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 SUVs has had a major impact on company’s growth in the country. Taking the period January to October 2012 into account Audi India sales increased 55% to 7273 units far surpassing their total of 5511 cars sold in the entire previous year.
Where the company’s dealer base is concerned, Audi India plans to expand dealerships to 25 throughout the country by end of this year. New showrooms are opened in Kanpur, Goa, Navi Mumbai, Delhi (West), Coimbatore, Nagpur and Bhopal in the past few months. For more information, scroll down.
