Built to commemorate 25 years of Audi TDI engines, the  Audi RS5 TDI concept gets detailed. The concept car takes the sporty Audi RS5 and teams it with an efficient turbodiesel powerplant resulting in the one of the most efficient diesel powered sports car to date.

This battery uses a separate 48 volt electric system mated to a 12 volt electric system via DC/AC converter. It is due to the presence of these that the engine is capable of 385 PS peak power and 750 Nm peak torque from 1250 to 2000 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is accomplished in 4 seconds and from 0 to 200 kmph in less than 16 seconds while top speed is pegged at 280 kmph.

RS5 TDI will be equipped with a sporty differential and active exhaust system with electronically controlled butterfly valve for changes in exhaust.

The Audi Concept was officially presented at Auto Mobil International event in Leipzig, Germany earlier this month, while the company has yet to reveal when the engine will go into production though earlier estimates put this somewhere in 2015-16.
