As the Geneva Motor Show commences on March 5, 2013, Audi will have five world premiers to offer. These will include the RS6 Avant, S3 Sportback, RS Q3 crossover, A3 e-tron petrol electric hybrid and the latest, Audi g-tron. However it is the fifth vehicle that is scheduled to cause some excitement as it gets under the spot light.
Audi will be revealing its new A3 Sportback g-tron which will be powered by a specially developed 1.4 liter TSI four cylinder engine which has been designed to run on Audi e-gas, CNG or unleaded gasoline. Its two fuel tanks are placed beneath the luggage compartment so as to save space and also to contribute to better balance. Each of these tanks has the capacity to hold upto 7 kgs of CNG while weight is reduced by 27 kgs as compared to a conventional diesel tank.
Another feature present in the A3 Sportback g-tron is the electronic gas pressure regulator that brings down high pressure of gas flowing into the cylinders while it can also alternate to gasoline operation when pressure in the tank reduced below the 10 bar. Highly fuel efficient and low on auto emissions is the plus point of this new engine while it develops 109 hp and 200 Nm torque whatever fuel is being utilized.
