Avan Motors India has now shown its Trend E smart electric scooter at the ongoing Automobile Expo 2019, Bangalore. Avan Trend E gets power from a lithium-ion battery, and in the words of the company, has a top speed of 45 kmph. The newest addition is a part of the company’s Xero series electric scooters.
Avan Motors Trend E features hydraulic telescopic front suspension and a coil spring rear suspension. Alloy wheels, with disc and drum brakes on the front and rear wheels, respectively are offered as standard. Max load is pegged at 150 kgs. Avan Trend E electric scooter has a ride range of 60 kms on a single battery charge. Ride range increases to 110 kms with double battery. The scooter’s lithium-ion battery charge time is 2 to 4 hours.
With Phase II of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME-2) scheme now defined with some clarity, Rs. 10,000 crore has been allocated for a three-year long period. Policy clarity will help provide fillip to the Indian EV industry. Avan Motors looks forward to the development as it works in tandem with the company’s goal of new-gen urban mobility solutions in India and a sustainable future.
As of now, Avan has two electric scooters on sale in India – Xero and Xero+. Apart from these and the new Trend E, the company is also working on electric motorcycles, which were showcased as concept at the Delhi EV Auto Expo. These will be first of its kind e-motorcycles in India, and are expected to be launched next year.
