Bajaj Adventurer registered – Is it a Dominar 400 based adventure bike?
Just recently, Bajaj Auto has registered a new brand name - 'Adventurer'.
Demand for bikes in the 250+ cc range is on the rise. Not only naked and sports, but also for adventure tourers. There has been a steady increase in the offerings. As of now, only the Royal Enfield Himalayan is being offered as a proper adv tourer in India in the entry level segment.
But by the end of 2018, we will also have the BMW G310 GS, KTM 390 ADV, and hopefully the Kawasaki X300. In addition to this, there are now rumors being circulated that Bajaj too is trying to enter this segment. The reason – Bajaj recently registered a new brand name called – Adventurer.
The Adventurer could be an adventure bike based on the Dominar 400. To keep cost low, it may also borrow parts from the Dominar. TO make things exciting, it could be seen with a tall windscreen, dual purpose tyres and extended suspension ensuring that the bike can tackle longer distances and manage difficult terrains with ease.
Below is a photo of a Dominar 400 which has been modified to be a true off-roader. It belongs to Mr Deepak Kamath and has been made by the team at Dominar Trip360 Trans Siberian Odyssey as they are going on a 12,000 km international road trip with the Dominar 400. The bike modifications support is by Sahyadri and most fixed by Bali Motokraft from Motokraft Racing.
Where engine specifications are concerned, the new Bajaj Adventurer bike could be powered by the same engine that is seen on the Dominar 400 and KTM Duke 390. This 373.2 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Power output could differ, as the same engine offers 35 PS power on-board Dominar 400, and 44 PS power on-board Duke 390.
Considering that the Dominar 400 is priced aggressively in the INR 1.4 lakh range, the new Adventurer 400 could also be priced in a sub INR 1.8 lakh range.
