Bajaj and Hero sales up in August 2014
Hero MotoCorp has noted 21% increased sales during August 2014. The company has sold a total of 5,58,609 units during August 2014 as compared to 4,59,996 units in the same month last year. Expansion plans are in the offing when Hero MotoCorp plans to increase total capacities at both plants to 9.2 million units over a period of two years. Before this year is out, Hero has plans of launching new products like Splendor Cafe Racer, HX250R, and Dewlet scooter.
Sales of Bajaj Auto Limited have also increased from 2.78 lakh units sold in August 2013 to 2.84 lakh units sold during August 2014 resulting in a 2% growth. Bajaj Auto sold 2,84,302 motorcycles in August 2014 as against 2,78,583 units sold in August 2013 out of which its Discover model was the most popular with a 16% growth in sales to 93,000 units sold in August 2014.
Total sales of Bajaj Auto stood at 3,36,840 units in August 2014 while in August 2013 total sales were at 3,12,188 units. The company expects sales during September to touch the 4 lakh mark. Exports of the company stood at 1,75,127 units in August 2014 up 21% as compared to 1,44,160 units sold in the same month last year. Now, Bajaj gears up to launch KTM RC 390 and RC 200 in India on 9th Sep.

CLOCKS 21% GROWTH WITH 5,58,609 UNIT SALES IN AUGUST 2014
New Delhi, September 01, 2014: Riding on strong demand for its range of products from customers, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today reported robust sales for the month of August, thereby setting the platform for the upcoming festive season.
HMCL sold 5,58,609 units of two-wheelers during the month, registering strong growth of 21% over the corresponding month in the previous year, when the company had sold 4,59,996 units. This is in keeping with the trend of consistently robust sales that Hero MotoCorp has been reporting since the beginning of this financial year (FY 2014-15).
All the recent launches – including the new Karizma, ZMR Xtreme, Passion Pro TR and the New Pleasure scooter – have received overwhelming response from customers, and the Splendor iSmart continues to drive volumes in the market.
Hero MotoCorp is confident of keeping up this growth momentum heading into the festive season, with as many as 10 new launches – including new models, upgrades and refreshes – during this period.
The eagerly-awaited new bike Splendor Pro Classic will be available in dealerships across the country in the coming weeks.
