Affordable pricing and impressive styling of the new Bajaj Avenger series has seen sales zoom at an average of 25,000 units per month, 8 times higher than previous Avenger sales. The new Bajaj Avenger cruiser range consists of Avenger Street 150, Street 220 and Cruise 220. Price of the 150cc variant is at INR 75,000 while the 220cc models are priced at INR 84,000.
Launched in India earlier this year, Bajaj Auto expected to see sales to the extent of 9,000 units per month. However, sales have been three fold at 25,000 units per month, far exceeding expectations.
Of the three models launched, it is the Bajaj Avenger 150 that accounts for sales of 10,000 units per month or 40% of the total of 25,000 unit sales clocked. Sales of Avenger 220 Cruise and 220 Street make up the remaining 15,000 units. Sold in the same segment along with the Pulsar variants, Bajaj Auto has confirmed that there is no cannibalization between these models. Both the Pulsar and Avenger series take total sales of the company up to 75,000 units per month.
Bajaj Avenger Street 150 gets the same engine seen on the Pulsar 150 capable of 14.5 PS power and 12.5 Nm peak torque. The Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 are powered by 220cc single cylinder four stroke, air cooled engines offering 19 PS power at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm.

With increased styling and on board comforts, the Bajaj Avenger cruiser range sees seat height increased by 15mm. Bajaj Avenger Street 150 gets glossy dark blue accents while the Avenger Street 220 is finished in matte black. White hued headlamps for better night time visibility, a new speedometer with LCD and flexible indicators are a part of its new features. The Avenger Cruise 220 gets a new handlebar and distinctive badging on its fuel tank sides with it receives 17” front wheel and 15” rear wheel.
