Bajaj Avenger 220 BS6 Specs Revealed – First Look Video

Even though it does not generate large volumes, Bajaj Avenger range does have a niche fan following

Bajaj Avenger works as an affordable option for people looking to ride a cruiser. It is currently the largest selling cruiser motorcycle in the country. With these positives on its side, Bajaj has now upgraded the motorcycle to meet BS6 emission norms. It is now more refined, more efficient and priced more.

Two-wheeler upgrade from BS4 to BS6 usually results in a change in power and torque output, but Avenger appears to be among the exceptions. Power output of the 220 cc Twin Spark, 2 valve, DTS-i, oil cooled BS6 engine is 19.03 ps @ 8,400 rpm, which is the same as that of BS4 engine.

Torque output is yet to be revealed, but it is likely to be same or close to the BS4 engine that generates 17.5 Nm of max torque at 7,000 rpm. These figures take care of any apprehensions regarding power and performance of BS6 Avenger 220 (Street and Cruise). Riding, handling and comfort are also expected to be the same as earlier. Dimensions of BS6 Avenger 220 Cruise are the same as BS4 model – 2210 mm long, 806 mm wide and 1490 mm of wheelbase. Only height has been decreased by 179 mm, from 1,321 mm to 1,142 mm. This will actually improve handling, as centre of gravity will be lower. Dimensions of BS6 Avenger 220 Street are exactly the same as that of BS4 model. The updated motorcycle is 2,210 mm long, 1,490 mm wide and 1,070 mm in height.
