Bajaj expects Discover 150 to become a huge success not just in India, but in export markets as well. The second largest Indian motorcycle maker attempts to draw a bridge between entry level performance bikes (which start at 150cc) and commuter bike segment (filled with 100cc and 125cc bikes) through this Discover 150 amalgamation; as we believe its Pulsar’s 150cc engine (producing 15 PS & 12.5 Nm) hiding under the fuel tank.
Observable difference between Bajaj Discover 150 S and Discover ST (125cc) would be full black finish on former as opposed to silver accents here and there on latter and usual 150cc segment tires on new Discover 150 in the form of MRF 100/90-17 at the back & 2.75 x 17 on front. Other parts like front forks, rear monoshock, front dome, visor, speedo cluster, fuel tank, side panel, rear fairing, alloy wheels and such look commonly used by both.
Launch of Bajaj Discover 150 S is expected in a few days. Speaking to the dealer, he confirmed that the price of Discover 150 S in Pune will be Rs 58-59,000 for the non-disc brake variant and Rs 61,000 for the disc brake variant. If this turns out to be true, Discover 150 S will become the most affordable 150 cc motorcycle in the country.
