In February 2020, Bajaj Pulsar 150 became the best-selling product from the brand at 49,841 units
February 2020 turned out to be a tough month for Bajaj Auto as YoY sales were down by 22.3%. A total of 1,40,241 units were sold in February 2020 compared to 1,80,574 units in February last year. Bajaj is not alone in this as most two-wheeler manufacturers including Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS posted negative YoY growth last month.
The top-selling Bajaj model in February 2020 was Pulsar 150 with 49,841 units as sales. This is still a YoY loss of 22% as against 63,673 units sold in February last year. One of the most popular bikes in India, Pulsar 150 was updated to BS6 specifications recently. The updated engine gets fuel injection (FI) and delivers 14bhp and 13.4Nm. Ex-showroom prices of BS6 variants have been increased in the range of Rs 10,000-12,000.

Bajaj Platina takes the second spot with a sales figure of 33,799 units in February 2020. YoY sales went down by 36% compared to 53,044 units in February 2019. One of the consistent performers, Platina BS6 was launched in January at Rs 47,000. Apart from the engine upgrade, the bike also received other updates such as revised styling, engine-check warning light on the speedometer and improved engine fasteners for reduced NVH.
Next comes Bajaj CT 100 with 27,242 units sold in February 2020. YoY sales came down by 27% as 37,346 units were sold in February last year. Bajaj had launched BS6 CT 100 at the beginning of the year. The BS6 model has also received some minor cosmetic updates such as blacked-out styling. At number four is Pulsar 125 BS6, which was introduced to the Indian market last year. It has registered strong sales ever since its debut. A total of 11,031 units were sold in February 2020.Pulsar 180 and NS200 returned a combined sales figure of 7,980 units in February 2020. This translates to a YoY loss of 46%. The two collectively sold 14,758 units last year. Pulsar 220 follows with 6,817 units in February 2020 and an improvement of 19% (from 5,720 units in February 2019).
Another Bajaj model with positive growth in February was Avenger 180. A total of 2,659 units were sold last month compared to 183 units in February 2019. This translates into a whopping growth of 1353%. However, its bigger sibling, Avenger 220 seems to be losing traction, as sales are down by 71%. A total of 455 units were sold compared to 1,596 units in February last year.
Other Bajaj modes with negative growth in February 2020 include Dominar 400 (-10%) and Discover 100 (-99%). The Dominar 250 could achieve only two units but has the potential to garner way more sales. In the EV space, Bajaj Chetak registered a sales of 100 units last month.
