New Bajaj Platina ES mileage almost 100 kmpl – photos, specs, features, price
2015 Bajaj Platina ES is revamped to look a lot like Honda Shine upfront and older Platina at the rear (no muscles sprained there). What’s new is the engine. Not all-new because the Platina gets a 2-valve version of the 4-valve 102 cc DTS-I engine with ExhausTEC featured in Discover 100 M. While the latter claim ARAI certified mileage of 84 kmpl while producing max power of 9.3 PS @ 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 9.02 Nm @ 6,000 rpm, Platina Electric Start is stamped with 96.9 kmpl mileage claim with the engine that manages 8.2 PS @ 7,500 rpm and 8.62 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. The 108 kg bike is also claimed to be capable of reaching 90 km/h top speed.
Features of new Platina ES include new design, three colour options – Ebony Black, Electron Blue and Candy Red, new body graphics, blacked out alloy wheels, engine components and silencer, SNS (spring in spring) suspension at the rear, and 29.1 inch straight seat which is said to be 20% longer than those in standard 100 cc bikes.
