Bajaj Pulsar BS6 models had already reached various dealerships ahead of the launch.
The Indian automotive industry is busy updating products across all major segments to BS6 emission standards that will become into effect from April 1, 2020. Many have also taken this opportunity to introduce facelifts or even all-new models of their popular offerings while some have limited themselves to updating the existing range, rather mildly. The new BS6 Bajaj Pulsar range is an example of this.
The entry-level Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon BS6 comes at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 68,700 for the drum variant while the higher disc variant costs Rs 73,00; an increase of about Rs 5k and Rs 6.5k, respectively. The major changes come in the form of a new FI system and a re-engineered exhaust, which may have made an impact on the output figures. In its near-identical BS4 format, the 124.38cc engine makes 12bhp and 11Nm of torque while mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The more popular Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6 is available at ex-showroom prices of Rs 85,900 (Neon), Rs 92,400 (Standard) and Rs 96,500 (Twin Disc). On average, the prices have gone up by 10,000-12,000 from the BS4 models. The BS5 model is powered by a 149.5cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that is good for 14bhp and 13.4Nm of torque. The newer Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6 boasts of an FI system like the lesser Pulsar 125 BS6. The transmission is the same 5-speed.
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F may be outdated, but the demand for the semi-faired motorcycle is still going strong. With the BS6 update, Bajaj indirectly shares that it has no plans to discontinue the model anytime soon. The outgoing BS4 model comes with a carburetted 220cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that is good for 20.9bhp and 18.5Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Prices for the new Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 start at Rs 1.16 lakh ex-showroom, which is higher by around Rs 8,000 compared to the outgoing BS4 range. The main change in the BS6 model is the inclusion of fuel injection and a revised exhaust system.
Meanwhile, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 has also made its debut at a starting price of around Rs 1.24 lakh ex-showroom. A few examples of the same had already reached certain dealerships across the country in familiar shades of paint, well before its launch. As expected, changes have mainly happened at the engine compartment in the form of a new FI system and a reworked exhaust layout.
