At a recently wound up Trade Fair in Istanbul, Turkey, Bajaj Auto showcased Pulsar 150 NS, an upcoming model in emerging markets including India. The entry-level Naked Sports variant is a cocktail between regular 150 and 200 NS.Apart from sharing design theme from Pulsar 200 NS, the 150 NS wears high wind screen, which is similar to the one seen in Pulsar 200 AS. Interestingly, this high visor was not featured in the 150 NS that was put on show during unveil ceremony in the same nation, in the beginning of January. The model was either refreshed before hitting production or the visor is meant to be sold as an accessory.
Salient features of Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS include similar narrow profile tyres as in current generation Pulsar 150, thinner sub frame mounted on perimeter frame, absentee rear tyre hugger, redesigned rear mud flap, saree guard (probably not as standard feature) and half-cover for drive chain.
Expect Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS to launch in India in a few weeks, followed by Pulsar 200 SS and new Avenger, among others. It is unclear if this model will replace the current Pulsar 150 DTS-i.
The current Pulsar 150 cc is powered by a 149 cc single cylinder air cooled engine. It delivers 15.06 PS power at 9000 rpm and 12.5 Nm torque at 6500 rpm. In the 150 NS, the same engine is tuned to deliver 17 PS power at 9000 rpm and 13 Nm torque at 7500 rpm.
