Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS spied with camouflage in Pune

Bajaj Pulsar 200 Adventure Sports is uncertain for India launch anytime soon. After being unveiled for the first time at a convention for the same purpose in Indonesia, the model has started getting spotted, first at Bajaj’s own test track in Chakan and now in Pune.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS spied on the roads of Pune.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS carries all vitals from its naked equivalent, like chassis, engine, gearbox, front fork, rear monoshock, alloy wheels and tyres. From the looks of these spy shots, even riding posture seems to be the same as in Pulsar 200 NS, which would turn out to be a huge bummer if true.

Projector lamp for high beam and expansive wind screen / visor are the key benefits in skipping 200 NS for AS, other than updated styling. Apart from the further extended front cowl emerging from fuel tank, there are some minor design differences as well, like the long and old-school rear mud-guard in AS replacing the stylish hanger in NS.

Pulsar 200 AS mimics the position of 220 F in the extensive Pulsar family but in next generation avatar, but the older model is not expected to receive the boot at the time of AS launch.

Bajaj Auto was showcasing Pulsar 200 AS, 200 SS and 400 CS in Indonesia for initial reception / feedback and market study.

As for launch, Bajaj Auto MD has confirmed they will launch a couple of new sports bikes under the Pulsar nameplate by June 2015. One for sure is the Pulsar 200 SS, which has already spotted at a dealership in Kolkata recently, while the second Pulsar is expected to be this 200 AS variant. Price range of 200 AS is expected to be in the Rs 1 lakh range.
