The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS FI variant is currently being tested ahead of the naked bike’s relaunch in early 2016, reports Indianautosblog. The Pulsar 200 NS’ production at Chakan plant was suspended on a temporary basis earlier this year in order to make space for the in-demand Pulsar RS 200 and AS (200 & 150).
Given that the Pulsar RS 200 continues to enjoy high demand in both domestic and international markets, the production suspension of the 200 NS is still in place. Bajaj Auto is currently expanding its Chakan plant’s production capacity and it would make more sense to re-introduce the street fighter with an upgraded engine.
It’s to be noted, Bajaj had already been selling fuel injected Pulsar 200 NS to export markets like Turkey without any change in the power and torque figures. The same 199.5 cc fuel injected liquid-cooled engine produces marginally higher 24.5 PS and 18.6 Nm of torque on board the fully faired RS 200. It remains to be seen which of these engine variants would find its way to the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS FI.
Visually, the refreshed model is reported to have new dual-tone color schemes and relocated pulsar logo. The upgraded variant would carry an increased price tag and would be positioned between the AS 200 and RS 200. It will continue to be a cheaper alternative to the KTM Duke 200.
