After Mr Rajiv Bajaj confirmed Bajaj Pulsar 200SS launch date in India for March 2015, the new Pulsar sportsbike has been spied in Kolkata, completely undisguised.
The yellow coloured Bajaj Pulsar 200SS, spied in the image above, was shot in Kolkata. The yellow ambassador taxi with blue stripe is the giveaway here, as that coloured Ambassador taxi is only found in Kolkata. In the image, you can also see a mechanic in a uniform, which is usually worn by mechanics at a Bajaj Auto service station in India.
Then there is the offloading metal ramp, which is used to offload motorcycles from the trucks in which they were transported from the Bajaj plant in Pune. These facts confirm that Bajaj has begun transporting Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS motorcycles across major cities, before its official in a few days. These first units could be for dealership display units, to check market response.
Featuring full front fairing, a muscular body, twin projector headlamps, split seats, digital speedometer with multi information display, Bosch single channel ABS, LED DRLs, and LED taillights, the new Pulsar is heavily based on the Pulsar 400SS concept which was displayed at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
Power to the 200SS will come from the same 199 cc single cylinder petrol engine, which also powers the 200 NS currently. Though unconfirmed, it is expected to be tuned to deliver more power, plus a new fuel injection system. On the 200 NS, this engine delivers 23.52 PS power at 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm torque at 8000 rpm, mated to a six speed gearbox.
Expected to be priced lower than KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar 200SS will be priced in the range of Rs 1.3 – 1.4 lakhs. Bookings are expected to open as early as next week, confirmed a Bajaj Auto dealer.
