Spied on test in a camouflaged state, new Bajaj Pulsar 400 CS production ready variant has now been rendered in five vibrant monotone colours. First showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, the launch of Bajaj Pulsar 400 CS is to take place by June 2016.
Speaking of its design, the launch ready Bajaj Pulsar 400 CS continues with similar styling cues which were showcased on the concept.
Changes which have not been carried forward from the concept are upside down front telescopic forks, alloy design and the styling of pillion seat. Instead of a single seat on the concept, the prod-ready Pulsar 400 gets a split rear seat which is raised by a few mm.
Highlights of the Pulsar 400 include LED headlamp and taillamps, new chiseled fuel tank design, wide tyres, ABS, two digital displays, an additional one is situated on the fuel tank which displays which gear is engaged and speed of the vehicle.
Power to the Bajaj Pulsar 400 CS comes from a single cylinder 373 cc liquid cooled 4 stroke engine, which has been derived from the KTM Duke / RC 390. This engine is expected to be tuned for higher low-end and mid-range torque to offer relaxed cruising experience on the highway (CS stands for Cruising Sports). On board the KTM, this engine delivers 44 PS and 35 Nm via a 6-speed gearbox.
Once launched, Bajaj Pulsar 400 CS take on the likes of Mahindra Mojo, Honda CBR 250R, KTM Duke 390, upcoming TVS Akula 310, etc. Expect the price to be in the range of INR 1.8 lakh.
