Bajaj Auto has devised a strategy to recover from slumping sales. This involves launching six new models, one every month for the next six months, ranging from entry-level 100 cc commuter bike to high-end sport motorcycle of almost twice the displacement the company has ever made.S Ravikumar, Bajaj Auto President of Business Development & Assurance, divulged to PTI regarding the 6 new launches and the inclusion of a 400 cc motorcycle (which we know as Bajaj Pulsar 400 SS that was spotted testing quite a few times).
Apart from entry-level Platina and Pulsar 400 SS, Ravikumar did not mention the names of other bikes in line for launch. Taking a wild guess, the list must have Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS, Pulsar 180 NS, Pulsar 150 NS and yet-another new variant of Discover.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto has decided not to pass the burden of excise duty hike to customers. Ravikumar mentioned that costs of raw materials are coming down and Indian economy is looking up, helping the company to absorb the increase in excise rate.
