The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 has been spotted testing in Pimpri by one of our readers. While the sight of a camouflaged Pulsar didn’t actually surprise us, we were not prepared for the rider’s camouflaged chequered jacket. Bajaj has taken visual trickery of test prototypes to a whole new level!
The Pulsar CS400 has been confirmed to be launched in the next quarter that starts in July. The new flagship Pulsar motorcycle which was previewed by a near production concept at the 2012 Auto Expo would be luring touring enthusiasts with its semi low-slung stance, relaxed riding position, and comfortable split seats.
While the concept featured an inverted telescopic front fork, the final production opts for a regular unit. The rear suspension adopts monoshock set up. The Pulsar CS400 is equipped with meaty tyres and a disc brake at each wheel. We expect the top-end variant to be equipped with double-channel ABS.
The single-cylinder liquid-cooled triple-spark engine is expected to be based on KTM 390 family’s 373.2 cc mill. Transmission will be a 6-speed unit. We can expect the output figures to be in the vicinity of 40 PS and 30 Nm of torque.
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 would be aiming to take on the compact displacement tourers and cruisers such as the Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield Thunderbird, UM Renegade twins, etc.
