Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 launched in May 2015 have seen total sales to the tune of 30,000 units to date.

Bajaj Auto Limited, leading two wheeler makers in the country rolled out Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 at an aggressive price tag of INR 79,000 and 91,500 respectively. Appealing to sports and adventure loving fraternity, the adventure bikes have failed to achieve expected sales target.

At the time of launch in April this year, Bajaj had said that monthly sales target for Pulsar AS150 is 10,000 units, and the same for AS200 is 5,000 units. This implies sales of the new Adventure Series is at 50% of what was expected.

Pulsar AS 200 sales

Instead of achieving expected target of 60,000 units, the company has achieved sales of 30,000 units in 4 months since launch.

Both Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 receive powerful engines and a host of onboard comforts which make the motorcycles an all-rounder, claims the company. Of the two, Pulsar AS150 is the one which more of a completely new offering, while Pulsar AS200 is based on the Pulsar NS200 which has been discontinued from production.

Design wise, both AS200 and AS150 are identical, with a few differences like tyre size and missing rear disc brake. Bajaj Pulsar AS200 is powered by a 199.5cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine mated to a 6 speed transmission. This engine is capable of 24 bhp peak power t 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Bajaj AS150 on the other is powered by a 149.5cc single cylinder air cooled engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox. This engine offers peak power at 16.8 bhp at 9,000 rpm and peak torque of 13 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Features on board the new Adventure Sport series includes perimeter frame, nitrox mono suspension at the rear, DTSi engine, projector headlamp, and liquid cooling (only AS200). Both bikes are available in three colours – Red, Blue and Black.
